Handling and finishing dry or brittle resins, such as Z350 XT and Spectra ST, can be challenging for dental professionals. These resins often crumble during manipulation, leaving whitish, uneven areas that affect the final aesthetic. To overcome this, proper techniques and tools are essential.
One effective approach is to slightly moisten your instrument with a modeling liquid. Suitable options include Bisco’s Resin Modeling Liquid, Ultra Dent’s Edson Resin, or pure bonding agents without primers. These products help smooth the resin’s texture, improve handling, and create a polished finish.
Unlike mousse-like resins such as Harmonize or Empress Direct, which have natural flow and finish, dry resins demand extra care to achieve the desired outcome. In this video, we demonstrate how to enhance the workability and final appearance of dry, brittle resins through simple yet effective adjustments. Stay tuned for practical tips to elevate your restorative procedures.
